Webster Accounting Structure

A Webster University account number has four possible components:

2-digit code. Specifies the overall funding source (e.g. unrestricted, temporarily restricted permanently restricted)

4-digit code. Designates a particular department or cost center.

4-digit code - Indicates the specific nature of the transaction (i.e. revenue and expenditures).

4-digit code - Indicates other sources of funding and/or another subset of a function.

Based on the components listed above, account numbers follow this pattern:

Fund - Function - Object - Subfund
XX    -   XXXX   -   XXXX  -  XXXX
