Scholarship Eligibility

Funds are awarded each year to new students who intend to enroll at Webster University for fall and spring semesters/terms. All new students will be awarded the maximum scholarship they qualify for at the time they are accepted to the University.

The following are application guidelines:

  • Applicants must be seeking their first baccalaureate degree.
  • Applicants should have a cumulative grade average of B or better (as calculated by Webster University) on all prior work attempted in high school and/or college.
  • Applicants must have been accepted to the University as degree-seeking.
  • Unless otherwise noted, applicants must be enrolled at the Webster Groves campus only.
  • Scholarships are not applicable to the summer session unless otherwise noted.
  • Awards to new students currently range from $1,000 to full tuition and are generally renewable at the same level if the required academic progress conditions are met. Awards apply only to fall and spring semester tuition charges at Webster.
  • Applicants who are accepted or submit required credentials after the application deadline are considered only if funds remain. Decisions are based on the University's evaluation of an applicant's previous academic background.

Funds donated to Webster University for specific needs and purposes are awarded to eligible students by the University's Scholarship Committee. These funds carry special eligibility requirements and conditions. Award criteria is subject to change. Institutional scholarships apply to tuition costs only. Tuition assistance such as vocational rehabilitation or tuition remission may affect a student's eligibility.  Check out some of our current scholarship winners and the opportunities they received this year.

Unless otherwise indicated, all scholarships are based on full-time, flat-fee (13 to 18 credit hours) enrollment for consecutive terms until required credit hours for graduation (120) are completed.

All grade point averages (G.P.A.s) are cumulative and are calculated on all previous academic work. For transfers, previous academic work includes all attempted credits from previous institutions.

How to Apply

Based on what you entered, you don't qualify for a merit-based scholarship. Raising either your ACT/SAT score or your GPA might change that. You may also qualify for need-based financial aid. Contact your admissions counselor if you have questions about other financial aid for which you might be eligible.
