Design Camp | Webster University

Design Camp

Design Camp 2020 has been canceled due to campus closure for COVID-19.

Design Camp is an intensive design-focused summer institute for high school students. Faculty and Alumni of the Department of Art, Design, and Art History will lead young artists in a focused study of Design and Digital Arts during this week-long camp. All Summer 2020 programming will be conducted online in remote learning format.

Design Camp students

Ideal for those who are beginning to consider options for college, Design Camp will help you build your portfolio for college application with artwork that reflects your individuality and unique skills.

Discover your artistic potential while learning from professionals working in the fields of Typography, Digital Illustration, and Graphic Design. Share your artistic achievements with family and friends as part of the Emerging Artists Exhibition, an online public exhibition of your work through Webster University's Hunt Gallery.

Program Description

Each weekday, a different Webster University professor or alumni will work with you in their area of expertise. As professional designers, the Design Camp instructors offer contemporary perspectives as they share advice for today's design industry.

We will feature a combination of synchronous and asynchronous learning, to best meet the needs of our students. Hours will be 9 am - 4 pm, with increased flexibility to accommodate students' unique schedules.

  • An online public exhibition through Webster University's Hunt Gallery will showcase your artwork professionally.
  • You will produce high quality artwork suitable for inclusion in your portfolio.

  • The cost for Design Camp is $425 per student.
  • A $25 deposit is required at the time of application, and full payment must be made 14
days prior to the beginning of camp.
  • Enrollment is limited to 15 students to provide the best possible experience.
