Biography
Dr. Rodney E. Pennamon has seventeen years of experience in higher education having
served in a variety of capacities that include teaching, counseling, advising, and
administrative positions. His previous experience includes positions in health and
human services. As a counselor educator Dr. Pennamon has a research interest in intergroup
dialogue (group work), social justice, conversational analysis, and individuals with
disabilities. He is the co-author of College Students with Asperger Syndrome: Practical Strategies to Ensure Social and Academic Success. Dr. Pennamon earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Illinois
State University, Masters of Education from Springfield College in Counseling & Psychological
Services and his Doctor of Philosophy degree from the University of Georgia in Counseling
& Student Personnel Services.
Dr. Pennamon serves as the Full-time Faculty Instructor and Counseling Coordinator
at the Charleston, SC Metro campus. In this capacity he is responsible for advising
students, working with adjunct faculty and teaching classes in the Clinical Mental
Health Counseling program.
