Dr. Amanda M. Rosen is Associate Professor of politics and international relations and a Fellow in the Institute for Human Rights and Humanitarian Studies. Her research focuses on the politics of climate change, human rights of the family, and the design and use of simulations and games and other pedagogical tools in the political science classroom. She has a PhD and MA in political science from Ohio State University and a BA from Duke University in Political and Economic Studies of Europe. She teaches courses in a wide range of areas, including international relations, American politics, research methods, politics in film and fiction, and environmental and energy security. A founder and contributing editor of the Active Learning in Political Science blog, she writes regularly on teaching in the social sciences. Dr. Rosen is the 2016 recipient of the APSA’s CQ Press Award for Teaching Innovation and the 2017 recipient of the ISA’s Deborah Gerner Innovative Teaching Award and Webster University’s William T. Kemper Award for Teaching Excellence. Her recent work can be found in Politics & Policy, International Studies Perspectives, PS: Political Science and Politics, and Journal of Political Science Education.
