About | Webster University

The Global Student Leadership Summit is an immersion experience that challenges students to reflect on their own leadership ability, involves them in crucial conversations about the student experience at Webster, and strengthens the connections among student leaders throughout the University's global network. The Summit is held every two years at a different Webster location. The first two Summits were held in St. Louis in 2015 and in Vienna in 2017.

The Summit curriculum includes several components:

  1. Active participation in an 6-week on-line course (non-credit) that begins developing connections among participants, engages students in key conversations leading up to the Summit, and lays the foundation for group work that will be a key feature of the Summit experience;
  2. Analysis of personal leadership style and perspectives, with a focus on how students can continuously improve their leadership capacity and empower future student leaders to ensure sustained effectiveness;
  3. Collaborate in teams and make a group presentation on action plans for each campus represented, and present their analysis and recommendations to a complex case study;
  4. An excursion to experience a unique aspect of the city in which the Summit is held.
