Dr. Dick Koblitz is currently an adjunct professor in the School of Education at both St. Louis University and Webster University where he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in literacy.  He earned his B.S., M.S. and Ed.D. degrees from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville.  Dr. Koblitz taught both single grade classes and multiage classes in grades 1-4 for 38 years at Dorris Elementary School in Collinsville, Illinois and R.M. Captain Elementary School in Clayton, Missouri.  He has written book chapters and articles, made presentations at state, national and international conferences, and conducted workshops and seminars on all areas of elementary literacy in the St. Louis Metro area.  His academic and research focus is on social constructivist approaches to teaching and learning literacy.
