James Schieffer is a School Psychologist with Special School District of St. Louis County, where he is primarily responsible for the provision of school psychological services in the Maplewood Richmond Heights School District. He has over 20 years of experience in the fields of school and community education, including work as a classroom teacher, guidance counselor, and an autism specialist and parent educator. James holds Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Saint Louis University and a Specialist's degree from the University of Missouri – St. Louis. James is also a Licensed Professional Counselor.

James has presented locally and nationally on topics ranging from positive parenting to adolescent brain development and autism spectrum disorders. As an adjunct professor at Webster University, James teaches graduate level courses in psycho-educational assessment, school psychology practicum and internship, and advanced independent study.
